CLARITY FIRST

Understanding the Role of a Consultant

Many Arizona families navigating the IEP process are unsure whether they need an educational consultant or a special education advocate. Both can provide valuable support, but the roles are quite different, and understanding that distinction can help you make the most informed decision for your child.

Clear Path Educational Consulting

Focuses on interpreting psychoeducational evaluation data. Supports parents in organizing informed, data-based questions. Attends meetings as a data-focused support consultant. Collaborative, clarification-centered approach.

Special Education Advocacy Services

Focuses on advocacy and representation during school discussions. May take a more directive or advocacy-based role. Attends meetings as an advocate on behalf of the family. Advocacy-centered approach.

“Clear Path Educational Consulting is not an advocacy or legal service. As an educational consultant serving Phoenix and Arizona families, the focus is on helping you understand your child’s evaluation results, eligibility decisions, and IEP planning through a calm, structured, and collaborative approach.”
